Happy announcement! I'm excited to share the finalized cover for my next book, Small Gods, forthcoming from New Issues. The collection will be out October 1st! Over the next few months and into the summer, I'll be sharing some of the wonderful blurbs and kind words about the book from amazing people like Alan Shapiro, Kate Daniels, Maggie Smith, and A. Van Jordan.



I can't thank everyone at New Issues enough for how amazing they've been during this process. Kimberly Kolbe, Sarah Kidd, and William Olsen have all been kind, and brilliant, and kind again since signing the contract a little over a year ago.

I'm working hard to schedule readings and visits for next fall and spring (and beyond!). If you're affiliated with a university reading series, community reading series, or have a recommendation for a favorite bookstore in your area that would love to host an often overdressed but very smiley and thankful poet, please send me a message!

I've received some wonderful news prior to the holiday break this year: New Issues Press has agreed to publish my second full-length collection, Small Gods. Their official announcement is listed below. Publication date is expected to be in the spring of 2017!

Exciting news! We have a finalized cover for the book! Also, the full lineup of readings for the fall has been posted! So many exciting things!

Recent updates to the website, including:

• New section for my forthcoming collection, with blurbs
• Updated spring 2015 reading section
• Updated chapbook section with new press added

In the new few months, expect to see cover art for the book, sample poems, and the beginnings of a schedule for book tour readings for fall 2015 and spring 2016, with updates to follow over the next 6-8 months or so.

Some really exciting news: the catalog page for my first book is now up at Kent State University Press, complete with blurbs! No cover art yet, but sometime in the spring we should have that finalized. Pre-orders are available now, and the book is set to drop on September 1st of next year.

Just a quick update on book progress:

The editing and shaping process has been wonderful thus far. I think we're close to a final version. The big news is that the book will have a new title: Translation.

This was the original title, many years ago, prior to playing about with dozens of others. It feels most appropriate to the intuitions and content of the collection, so I'm really excited to officially be returning to it.

So excited to be able to formally announce that my first full-length collection, No Epithets, has been selected by Jane Hirschfield as the winner of the 2014 Wick Poetry Prize. The book will be published in the fall of 2015. I'm honored to be part of the Wick Poetry family, and to have a chance to read with Jane Hirschfield that same fall at Kent State University.
